ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P | All You Need To Know

The ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P is a first-of-its-kind convertible that combines everything we like about tablets and laptops into a single, flexible device. It was made by a team of experts and is the first of its kind. For a very long time, convertibles have been a part of the Windows family of computers, but they have only just started showing up in the many Chromebooks that have come out in the past year or so.

Will the C100P show that Chrome OS works just as well on a touchscreen as it does on a traditional trackpad, or will the Flip fail before it even takes off? Find out what I think of my ASUS Flip C100P Chromebook!

Why did we Like the ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P?

The ASUS Flip Chromebook C100P has a beautiful screen and a battery life that is unbelievable for a device that weighs less than 2 pounds.

Pros

Chrome OS is made for touchscreen devices.

The screen is surprisingly bright and Battery lasts a long time.

Cons

The speakers only worked half the time.

It wasn’t powerful enough for heavy browsing.

Design Feature of ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P

It’s no secret that Apple has changed the way every design department from here to Taiwan thinks about not only what a piece of technology can do but also how good it can look while it’s doing its job. They took bulky, IBM-inspired black-on-grey-on-beige laptops and made them sleek and touchable like no other company in the past ten years could.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise that other products have followed suit in how they are made. If you want to compare this model to something, the Asus Chromebook Flip 434 isn’t too bad.

When I look at this laptop, I’m surprised that Apple hasn’t already sued ASUS for design theft. In a blind logo test, I would not be able to tell the Flip from many of Apple’s other products. It has an anodized aluminum body, a flat key black-on-silver keyboard, and a single headphone jack.

Apple’s design team is, of course, one of the best in the business.

Is ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P Compatible with Software?

At this point, you haven’t been paying enough attention if you don’t know what software you’re getting when you buy a Chromebook. Chromebooks are the choice of many people because they don’t come with any extra surprises.

The Flip’s only real “software” is an offline version of the Drive suite of apps. Everything else you “install” will be nothing more than a Chrome extension or a web shortcut that is added to your Start menu, which is exactly how we like it.

Do You Know About the Performance of ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P?

Because of its lower specs, it wasn’t too surprising that the ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P’s performance wasn’t very good. As usual, we used the ASUS Flip in a variety of everyday situations and ran a standard set of WebGL tests to see how well it worked in normal situations.

Before the Flip started to slow down, we were able to open about six tabs of different text-based sites and have four 1080p YouTube videos playing in the background. This is one of the earliest times we’ve seen a Chromebook slow down. The included 802.11ac Wi-Fi chip, which sped through our bandwidth tests at a steady 160–180Mbps depending on where we were in the house, made those videos load very quickly.

On the other hand, the speakers on board were kind of a mixed bag. When we used the Flip as a normal laptop, the speakers were almost touching the surface we were typing on. This made our test music sound far away and bad. In tablet mode, the speakers were facing outward and sounded much better and fuller than on other Chromebooks in the same category.

Do You Know About the Display of ASUS Chromebook Flip C100P?

For such a small laptop, Flip’s 10.1-inch (1200 x 800) IPS display screen has a lot of pixels. When the C100P wasn’t running a lot of apps or tabs at once, the colours in games and movies jumped off the screen, and the touchscreen was very responsive.

How well does the ASUS Chromebook Flip Battery has?

The Flip’s battery was just as impressive as its screen. During our tests, it lasted a solid 8 hours and 46 minutes. With a chassis this small, it’s rare to find a laptop that can handle a full workday’s worth of tasks without needing to be plugged in at some point. But the ASUS held its own against the best laptops and tablets.

Conclusion

The ASUS Flip C100P shows that not everyone is a good fit for convertible laptops, especially Chromebooks. However, Chrome OS can still do well in either setting, and it can easily replace your next iPad Air for half the price.
